About the Packaging Technologist job

The purpose of your role will be to play an integral role in the delivery of all packaging and packing requirements for projects whilst working closely with the food development and operations teams.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day project process, ensuring that the highest levels of efficiency and performance are met for the technical packaging, print and packing of products.

Key tasks

• Work with Product Developers to create packaging that meets customer and company requirements, ensuring readiness for factory trials and conducting transit trials as needed.
• Support pre-artwork meetings, manage artwork generation and approval, and ensure compliance with packaging specifications (cutter guides, barcodes, date code boxes, etc.).
• Streamline packaging across customers, maintain an inventory of packaging materials, identify improvement opportunities, and keep the Packaging Buyer informed of new requirements.
• Stay updated on packaging trends and innovations, attend industry events, manage packaging stock for NPD, maintain the packaging database, and participate in NPD meetings.

About You

• Experience in packaging development and manufacturing, with a passion for food. Or be a food science graduate with at least 1 years NPD experience and an interest in packaging development.
• Knowledge of food labelling requirements and experience working with retailers and suppliers.
• Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-customer environment.
• Access to own transport due to site location.

The Packaging Technologist job (ref:8846) is paying £30,000 - £45,000 according to your experience.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The site is in Kent and is commutable from Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Ashford, Battle, Hawkhurst, Staplehurst, Cranbrook, Crowborough, Paddock Wood and surrounding towns.
